Who do I report

Meldpunt Bezorgd? is intended for inhabitants of Delft, Westland, Midden Delfland and Pijnacker-Nootdorp in problem situations. It is set up for persons who do not seek help themselves and who are struggling with several problems at the same time. These may be mental problems but also financial difficulties. People may express this by completely withdrawing or, on the contrary, causing disturbances.

In practice, it often appears to be a combination of hidden problems. For example, a person who is addicted to alcohol and causes trouble. Or someone who is abused and has hardly or no contact with the outside world. A depressive single parent with financial problems who can not longer handle looking after the children, can use help. Staff members of the Centre may also visit an elderly person who is growing demented and is being exploited financially. Click here for more examples.

Do not report

• Meldpunt Bezorgd? is not intended for crisis situations. In case of emergency call the police (112 or 0900 8844), the GP or the GP out-of-hours surgery.
• In case of suspected child abuse, call the Child Abuse Counselling and Reporting Centre [Meldpunt Kindermishandeling] (0900 123 1230).
• If there is a problem with someone who is already being treated by a care worker, call the organisation involved.
• If someone is already motivated to seek help him/herself, you need not call the centre, but you can contact the GP, social work or the Delfland Mental Healthcare Association [Geestelijke Gezondheidszorg or GGZ].
• Meldpunt Bezorgd? is not intended for people in trouble outside Delft, Westland, Midden-Delfland and Pijnacker-Nootdorp.
